There are more than 60 hyperbaric facilities in the British Isles owned and operated by patients to provide treatment for multiple sclerosis. Many of the centres have more than one chamber and so the total number of chambers is over 100. Most of the chambers are multi-place chambers which use compressed-air at pressures from 1.5 to 2 ata with oxygen provided using built in breathing systems and oro nasal masks or hoods. MS Therapy Centre Lothian
The MS Therapy Centre Lothian offers practical therapies in a friendly, supportive environment. These include Physiotherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Yoga and Reflexology. It is an independent registered charity but maintains strong links with the Association of MS Therapy Centres in Scotland.
Oxfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy
The Oxfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre based at Milton Park, Abingdon is a small registered charity established in 1984, affiliated to the Federation of Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centres. Our centre was specifically founded to offer subsidized therapies to sufferers, which are not readily available on the NHS.
Our aim is to offer a range of complimentary therapies, information and support, in a warm and caring environment. Therapies include, Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Massage and Reflexology, which help maintain mobility and symptoms.
The charity has one part-time employee, several professional therapists and a number of volunteers.
